Gabions and its properties
- Tekno Gabions are Box Gabiones, (8x10 mm, 10x12mm mesh sizes), Reno Mattresses, (5x7mm, 6x8 mm mesh sizes) and Sack Gabions
- Tekno Gabions are produced from double twisted wire mesh to prevent rupture
- Tekno Gabions are produced as heavily zinc coated or Galfan coated or PVC coated
- Tekno Gabions are produced as a minimum lifetime of 30-80 years against corrosion

Box Gabions
- Gabions are baskets made of hexagonal woven wire Mesh Type 80x100, and 100x120 commonly referred to as double twist wire mesh Gabions are filled with rock
at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures such as retaining walls, channel linings and weirs for erosion control projects.
The steel wire used in the manufacture of the gabion is heavily zinc coated. If required, a 0,5 mm nominal thick PVC coating is then extruded over the
galvanised wire to provide added protection for use in aggressive environments with acidic soils and water, in salt or fresh water or wherever the risk of
corrosion is present. In order to reinforce the structure, all mesh panel edges are selvedged with a wire having a greater diameter than the mesh wire.
The gabion is divided into cells by means of diaphragms positioned at approximately 1m centres.

Box Gabion Applications
- Fast and more practical applications for retaining walls
- With its elastic properties, more resistant to earthquake
- To prevent landslides towards the river bad, gabions is the most effective and practical solutions
- %30 porocity gives more drainage ability to the walls
- Green surfaces gives more natural and esthetic properties to the wall
- More environmental solutions
- Easy design with special computer programs

Reno Mattresses
- Reno mattresses are structures made of hexagonal woven wire Mesh Type 60x80, 50x70 commonly referred to as double twist wire mesh.Reno mattresses are filled
with rock at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures for river bank and scour protection, channel linings for erosion control
and underwater pipeline protection. The steel wire used in the manufacture of the gabion is heavily zinc coated. When required, a 0,5 mm nominal thick PVC
coating is then extruded over the galvanised wire to provide enhanced protection for use in aggressive environments such as in salt water, in water carrying
a high abrasive sediment load or wherever the risk of corrosion is present. In order to reinforce the structure, all mesh panel edges are selvedged with a
wire having a greater diameter than the mesh wire. The Reno mattress is partitioned into cells by means of diaphragms positioned at approximately 1m centres.

Terramesh System
- The Terramesh™ System is a versatile modular system used for soil reinforcement applications such as mechanically stabilised earth walls and slopes. The
facing section of the unit is formed by connecting the back panel and a diaphragm to the main mesh panel. This creates rectangular shaped cells used for
stone confinement. The wire used in the manufacture of the Terramesh™ System is heavily zinc coated. A PVC coating of 0,5 mm nominal thickness is then
applied to provide added protection for use in polluted environments where soil or water is acidic, in salt or fresh water or wherever the risk of corrosion
is present. These units are made of hexagonal woven wire Mesh Type 80 commonly referred to as double twist wire mesh and supplied in standard lengths,
requiring no cuts on site. In order to reinforce the structure, all mesh panel edges are selvedged with a wire having a greater diameter.

Green Terramesh
- The Green Terramesh™ is an environmentally friendly modular system used for soil reinforcement in mechanically stabilised slopes and embankments. Green
Terramesh™ units are factory assembled units manufactured from continuous, heavily galvanised and PVC coated steel wire mesh. The wire is hexagonal woven,
into a common referred to double twist wire mesh configuration. The facing section of the unit is reinforced with additional PVC coated steel rods inserted
through the twist during the manufacturing process. Attached to the inside facing is a geosynthetic or a biodegradable Erosion Control Blanket (ECB), a
welded steel panel and two steel brackets, preformed to a 70° slope angle. The ECB protects the backfill soil and permits a vegetative cover to establish
rapidly. It may consist of a permanent geosynthetic three dimensional geomat “MacMat™” (Water Type for hydraulic applications) or a biodegradable 100%
coconut fibre biomat “BioMac™” (Soil Type for dry applications). The welded steel panel placed behind the ECB adds strength and provides support to the
facing while holding the blanket in place during construction.

Rockfall netting systems
- Rockfall protection netting is used to prevent rocks and debris from falling onto roads, railways or where there is a possibility of loss of property or
life. The wire used in the manufacture of Rockfall Netting is heavily zinc coated. Where necessary, a 0,5 mm nominal thick PVC coating is applied to provide
added protection for use in polluted environments where soil or water is acidic, in salt or fresh water or wherever the risk of corrosion is present.
Rockfall Netting is made of hexagonal woven wire Mesh Type 60 or 80 commonly referred to as double twist wire mesh. Rockfall Netting is supplied in standard
lengths and widths.

Steelgrids
- Steel Grid™ is typically used for beach front vehicular deployment, emergency roadways, for access across poor areas of sub-grade support and for temporary
or permanent roadway stabilisation. SteelGrid is manufactured from hexagonal woven wire Mesh Type 80 commonly referred to as double twist wire mesh and
lined with a pre-attached geotextile on one side of the mesh. The geotextile which is used mainly for separation, is manufactured from continuous polyester
filaments, that have been double needle-punched and glazed on the one side. The steel wire used in the manufacture of Steel Grid is heavily zinc coated.
FSteel Grid is reinforced with a transverse rod, woven into the mesh at 160 mm intervals. FlexMesh™ is manufactured and supplied in standard lengths and widths.

Sack Gabions
- Sack Gabions consist of a single mesh panel made of hexagonal woven wire Mesh Type 80, commonly referred to as double twist wire mesh. Sack Gabions are
filled with rock at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures used for emergency and river training works where local conditions
require fast installation or where the water does not allow for easy access to the site and where underwater installation is necessary. The steel wire used
in the manufacture of the sack gabion is heavily zinc coated. When required, a 0,5mm nominal thick PVC coating is then extruded over the galvanised wire to
provide added protection for use in aggressive environments. The end of the mesh is edged with steel rods inserted during the manufacturing process to allow
for faster closing during installation.
